General Forum Rules

As commented by A, this forum is strictly restricted to prefects and teachers in charged only but can be viewed by fellow students and teachers outside of the Prefectorial Board.
The St. Thomas's Prefectorial Board welcomes you to our forum.
For those who are not familiar with online forums, there are general rules that you have to abide to and we also have our own rules that you must take note of.

Rules

1. REGISTRATION
-Newly registered members will have to send Private Message or contact in any way possible to Admins/Mods so that grouping (group 1 to 3, tops, teachers, OPs) can be made.
-NO DUPLICATION OF ACCOUNTS. Creating fake accounts will result in deletion.
-If you've forgotten the password, please click the 'forgot password' option right under the log in space. It will resend your password to your email.
-If you want your username to be changed, contact the Admins.
NEW RULE: Both Mr. Joseph and Ms. Slyvia have agreed over EXCO meeting to make it an obligation for members to have their REAL name used in their usernames when registering to make it easier for the Admins to identify them and therefore put under appropriate groups. If you still want to keep your chosen username, it is suggested to put it behind your Real name after a dash.

2. WHEN POSTING MESSAGES/TOPICS
-DO NOT spam (posting unconstructively, bumping topics unnecessarily, opening multiple threads are all considered as spamming.) the board or flood with unnecessary messages. You may do so in the ChatBox. Offending/unnecessary threads or post will be deleted and a warning given to the offender.
-If you want to change anything, always use the EDIT button. DO NOT double post on the same thing.
-Please refrain from posting single or only two words in reply. We encourage more comments from you.
-Use [search] option on the top right below the banner before posting a new topic as to avoid creating multiple similar topic.
-Post topics in the correct sections.
-DO NOT post offensive messages just to belittle or hurt another! A warning will be issued for the first offence, and suspensions for multiple offences.
-Always double check your message before posting.
-You are solely responsible for the content of your message.

3. INAPPROPRIATE ACTIONS
-DO NOT post real life nude or pornographic materials! This includes pictures, avatars, signatures, and links. Results in WARNING and/or BANNING.
-Materials that which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy,
or otherwise in violation of any law will not be tolerated.
-STRICTLY NO POSTING OF SENSITIVE ISSUES that may cause flaming among members or people outside the forum! (i.e. political, racial, religion). WARNINGS will be issued and may even result in BANNED FOR LIFE.
-NO discussion, distribution or posting links to pirated software, pornography or any kind of copyrighted materials. Result in deletion of offending post and offenders will get a TEMPORARY SUSPENSION to their account.
-PLEASE take consideration for every of your actions as forum rules are enforced very strictly.

4. NO ADVERTISING
-Creating threads for the purpose of advertising is not allowed.
-Commercial-oriented posts, blatant commercial advertising, referral links, links in signatures is not allowed.

5. FORUM ETIQUETTE
-RESPECT each other and even guests.
-No Bashing or generally Hateful messages!
-Respect people's privacy and do not post other's personal details without first getting their consent to do so.
-Always include credits to your source of materials. You agree not to post any copyright infringed material unless the copyright is owned by you, or if you have express permission from the copyright owner.
-Please note that advertisements, chain letters, and uninvited solicitations are inappropriate on the Posting Board and Forum, and violators will be dealt in accordance to the Forum Policies.

6. LANGUAGE USED
-We want to keep the topic contents public so please use proper English or Bahasa Melayu unless attached with translation to English or BM.
-Other languages are opened in chatting.
-No SMS styled messages please.
- NO PROFANITY. Don't ever bypass our swear filter. You will be warned/banned.

7. AVATARS AND SIGNATURES
Avatars
Your avatar must be no bigger than 150 pixels by 150 pixels in size.
The following file types are allowed: .gif .jpeg .jpg .png .bmp


Signatures
Your signature is limited to 2 non-animated banners or 1 animated banner. Each banner must not exceed 600 pixels by 150 pixels in size of width and height respectively. Avoid using large files (example- a file of size 700kb and above and exceeding 1mb) for animated banner IF you are using BBcode and through image hosting. You can also add maximum of 4 lines.

8. CONSEQUENCES IF FAILS TO OBEY FORUM RULES
- Every breaking of rule will result a warning and/or suspension.
- Inappropriate posting/topic will be removed by Admins/Mods without prior notice.
- You will be ban forever if getting more than 3 warnings.

When it is necessary, new rules will be added according to problem arise.
Notes will be given from admin when the new rules added.

Lastly, don't take our Prefectorial Board forum as something too "scary" or "serious". Have fun! If it's so official we won't even have a ChatBox! But be wise and take in consideration before posting anything. We're just a crazy bunch of people as any crazy fun people out there. Any problems or questions, ask us. ;D
